Why we exist
Careers in software rarely stall for lack of talent. They stall on the things nobody teaches: how to frame a system-design answer under pressure, how to tell a behavioral story that lands, how to make the case for a promotion, how to lead once the title finally changes. We built commitway to close that gap with direct, 1-on-1 coaching from people who have done the hiring and the leading themselves.
How we work
Every engagement is one coach and one engineer — no cohorts, no recycled curriculum. You bring a real goal; your coach brings the mock interviews, the written feedback, and the hard questions. We work on coding and system-design interviews, behavioral prep, career planning, promotion cases, and the move from senior engineer into management.
Alongside the coaching we keep an open, free library: years of engineering and leadership writing, plus an archive of recorded mock interviews and system-design sessions. No gate, no sign-up wall — read and watch as much as you like.
Who we are
commitway is a small team of coaches who have built and led engineering teams at FAANG and other top companies. We’ve sat on both sides of the interview table and the promotion committee, and we coach the way we wish someone had coached us.
What we believe
- Specific beats generic. Feedback is only useful when it’s about your code, your story, your situation.
- Open by default. Our articles and recordings stay free and public — good preparation shouldn’t be paywalled.
- Outcomes over hours. We measure success by the offers accepted and the promotions earned, not by sessions sold.
